The evolution of the Sioux Alice logo
Oh my god, it has been AGES since I've written a blog post (just short of a year). I've started absolutely loads of posts since then but never got round to finishing them.
What do you think of Sioux Alice's fresh new look? I decided to give Sioux Alice a bit of a makeover in the summer as I've never been quite happy with my branding. Have you ever heard people talking about their product 'style'? I discovered my 'style' in a one off greetings card design I made for someone who was leaving at work. I designed this card and realised the direction I wanted to go. For those of you who have been with me for a long time you'll have seen quite a few different Sioux Alice logos. When I started Sioux Alice in 2014 I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. Here is the evolution of the Sioux Alice logo
For some reason I struggled to get my logo exaclty how I wanted it. Coming from a Graphic Design background and being able to change my mind and make something new whenever I wanted was the problem. I've never set myself any brand guidelines. Over the summer I really wanted to concerntrate on something that I would be entirely happy with for a long time, not just a year and something that would finally represent Sioux Alice.
I set out to creating a new hand drawn logo and a brand board to support this. I was so determined I even categorised my design styles and photography! Setting myself some brand guidelines to stick by has helped me so much and I'm FINALLY happy with my branding.
Some of my original scribbles
Here are some of my final logo choices, I sent this out to quite a few people to help me pick a favourite. I think getting other peoples opinions is so important when choosing a logo. I ended up choosing the bottom design as my final logo. A lot of my designs are styled in the same way so this logo represents Sioux Alice so well.
The FINAL logo
Along with my new branding I wanted to change my website up a bit. The old website was (in my opinion) quite boring and although I was happy with it to start with, I wanted to create something that would represent my new brand. I really love how the website looks now with the border and page blocks on the front page! Yay!! (If you're looking for a website/rebrand check out Wilson & Ward Creative)
Along with the lauch of the new brand came a few new products, I launched my first water bottle and pen set and I also released some new cards for Christmas!
I'd love to know what you think of the new website/branding/products so be sure to make a comment below :):)!!
